egg-gla 1953

Memory in the Dead Zone

An uncle had died and left him a set of encyclopedias from 1953. They laughed over them during one of their secret stolen afternoons, after they had made love and he'd fed her mille feuille. He offered her a volume at random as gift. She asked him to inscribe it. "I hope this will be of invaluable help to you and provide guidance in all aspects of your future love, fondest regards" he wrote. "I meant to write life" he said "not love". " Ahh, so he loves me then" she thought. EGG-GLA. Over the years she has palimpsested the pages, in memory of that brief and lovely interlude.
